About Anita
A little about me...
I love yoga and the spiritual side of yoga, for me yoga is for the mind, the body and the soul! I have practised yoga all my adult life , over 30 years. I love to share my passion for yoga and for me yoga isn't exercise! Yoga has benefited me by giving me a greater sense of well being. When I practice yoga regularly - I sleep better, I feel less achy, I feel strong and calm. Life always has its ups and downs but with regular practice, yoga has helped me to be resilient and better able to cope with stress.
The yoga I teach is for real everyday people - you don't need to be able to touch your toes or do the splits and even if you have an injury I will give modifications. I teach traditional Hatha yoga but I do bring in a few other influences as I like to bring in the softer side to yoga with influences from Qi Gong and Tai Chi, there's quite a lot of lying down too. My classes are themed offering variety and meaning to the ancient practices, my classes include breathing practices -pranayama, meditation and relaxation often with my Himalayan Singing Bowls or yoga nidra.
I have a love of travel, having grown up abroad, coming to England when I was 13 and I am now lucky to live on Hayling Island on the South Coast of England where the water is never far away. I enjoy nature and anything to do with the sea- walking by the sea, paddle boarding, swimming with the occasional cold water dip, making me feel alive!
I completed my yoga teacher training with FRYOG 200 hours, a 2 year course with the Friends of Yoga in 2019. Since then I have continued to learn about the ancient practice yoga, completing many in depth training courses. I love teaching and sharing the practice of yoga.
Prior to teaching yoga I was a Therapeutic Radiographer for over 30 years looking after cancer patients.
